MUSIC LAYOUTS
I believe every design layout for a vinyl record, CD or music cassette has to tell a story, from cover to booklet and page to panel. The entire package has to successfully convey and visually bring to life the narrative of the music contained within, but also inclusive of the bands brand image a style that befits their unwritten codified genre-based graphical parameters,. Music, as an abstract art in many ways, allows for multiple expressions and philosophical interpretations, and in turn also extends to the visual physical plane.
Designing these layouts allows me to exercise my imagination in a different mode, to attempt to capture and graphically convey a more ethereal and intangible message(s). Feel free to take a look at more examples using the button below:
LOGOS & BRANDING
I very much enjoy logo design and its many stages of production. From the joyous delving and discovery of the formative research stages, to the generation of multiple iterations and concepts. Really getting to the crux of what a brand is about and distilling it down to its core attributes and vision in a single representative symbol is something akin to visual alchemy and one I relish in its every detail.
Take a look at some of the examples below to see the level of detail and attention I give every logo design to ensure the best outcome for the brand is achieved.
BANDCAMP WEBPAGES
Designing for music labels and musicians using one of largest platforms for selling music (fans having spent $1.25 billion using it thus far), may seem like a restrictive task looking at the average Bandcamp store front page. Its customizable design framework consists solely of a small header, a background image and a fixed central body.
However, I see this as a challenge to flex my design muscles. Using small and seemingly unwieldy design real estate is a tall order, but one that forces me to make the most of every inch and quite literally think outside the box! See some examples below to view what I can do with such little space to produce effective and unique design solutions for any client, whichever the genre or style.
APPAREL
Having the good fortune of encountering many clients from a diverse set of industries enables me to show you a broad range of my abilities in my portfolio.
Apparel designs are no exception; from clients such as Universal Music Group, to professional athletes wearing my designs performing live on TV for the action-packed WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), my work is worn with pride.
ILLUSTRATION
Besides graphic design, illustration has always been a passion and hobby of mine, from the very moment I could put crayon to construction paper.
As illustration and aspects of it are integral to graphic design to enhance communication delivery, being able to develop my skills and understanding of illustration alongside my design work is a positive synchronistic duality that has always made sense for me to pursue in tandem, whether professionally or in my free time.
